SS 2 Review
SS2 is a one of the most established commercial hubs in ">Petaling Jaya. It is also known as the largest district of Petaling Jaya. It neighbours Damansara Jaya, Damansara Utama, SS17, SS21 (Seapark), and Section 19.The commercial centre is the focal point of SS2 and contains vast array of traditional shops and restaurants, as well as chic cafes and specialty shops. Most terrace houses in SS2 are very old and some of them have been refurbished into modern homes and even commercial outlets. The residents of these homes are mostly Chinese old folk with large family.Besides old homes, the enclave is now booming with numerous of modern residential, which are mostly condominiums such as Ameera Residences and Five Stones mostly are located at Jalan SS 2/72. There are strong demands for the new residential developments, however the demand is not very well for older high-rise residential such as Jasmine Towers. There is a huge gap between the price of the new and old condominiums. In addition,Ken Damansara,Casa Damansara,Casa Suites and Tropicana City Tropics are actually part of SS2, but they are marketed to be located in their own enclave called Damansara Intan. Also, there are few blocks of low-cost flat nestled in SS2.The area surrounding SS2 is too congested and busy with commercial activities. The environment is not too suitable for raising family as the air is quite dusty and the overall surrounding is noisy at most times. Moreover, a lot of cars using residential roads to avoid traffic jam – that might harm little kids who are playing in front of the house.
